Wow I haven't blogged in a month now. Dw, I'm not gonna let it die, I've just been lazy, enjoying my holidays which have consisted of ridiculous patterns of drinking, reading, gaming and sleeping.
I've been reading Bill Clinton's autobiography. It's interesting! Though it's over 1,000 pages long so I won't be done for a while. Just makes you wonder what Obama will be like... the trend for Democratic Presidents seems to be good-bad-good-bad. For example, Clinton, the last Democratic President, was a good one; President Carter before him was horrible. Let's wait and see if Obama can break that trend!
I also commend and pay homage to President Bush's time in office. In my eyes, he's had to cop a lot of unfounded criticism. Sure, he sometimes has his blonde moments in regards to public speaking, but you have to praise what he's done behind the scenes. Many people believe he fucked up over 9/11. How many other Presidents can say they had to deal with such an enormous security catastrophe only months into their Presidency (or at all during their term, for that matter)? I believe he's a true American hero and he's done a good job. Kudos to him.
So anyway, I've started tutoring ESL English. It's not too bad, it gets me a good income now which I'll need for my trip. BTW, I'm going to Thailand with my family for a couple of weeks, before heading down to Malaysia and Singapore by myself :D can't wait for some independence time! Anywho, I'm tutoring about 10 hours a week, and it mainly consists of me just going over everyday conversation passages and slang. So it's not even that boring :) I hope I keep this going because it really is good money!
So last Friday night was Cliff's 20th at YU. Despite the massive hole I burnt in my pocket, a good night was had. A few mates and I stayed out basically all night, haha. We stayed at YU until like 3 when we decided to hit up other places in the Cross. We got into a fight as we left YU though which was pretty lol. Nobody was really hurt.
I don't know if you read this. Either way, this is for my own peace of mind. Firstly I do feel sorry that my mere presence seems to upset and anger you so much. I was not there because of you, I was there to have a good time with my friends, many of whom I hadn't seen in weeks. Don't think I went there to ruin your night. While I can obviously understand you getting upset over me being there, perhaps in regards to the memories it brought back under similar circumstances, I don't think you had the right to be angry. I'm not going to avoid going to an outing just because of one person, that's the bottom line. Obviously I was going to keep my distance and make sure there wouldn't be any drama, especially at someone else's birthday night. I honestly thought it would have been all good, and we both could have enjoyed our nights with no dramas, but I guess I was wrong. Though as I said, I just don't understand your 'anger.' It seems to continually paint me as the guy who did everything wrong, when we and everyone really knows it wasn't just me in the wrong.
On a brighter note, I can't wait for Unifest on Friday night!

Nice guys finish last?
I'm tired as all hell, but I promised myself that I would recap the weekend's events before I retired for the evening.
Said fatigue has accumulated over the last two days. I must ensure I never again turn up to work on 3 hours' sleep after a big Saturday. My boss seemed to insinuate that I'd get fired if I continue to be as lethargic as I was today, lol. I narrowly avoided catastrophe on numerous occasions, much to my relief. These included:
Just in case you can't read the map, the route begun at Bexley North, going along Bexley Road up to Campsie, then up Burwood Road to the Hume Highway where I turned left, then right into Homebush Road, went through Strathfield, back down Coronation Parade (yes there is a mistake in my red line) then back onto Burwood Road. It was a lot hotter than I expected, and I still had a bit of a cough before heading out which both added to the mental challenge. It was already becoming a slog by the time I got through Campsie, and I had to stop at the park just after it for a quick sip of the bubbler. By the time I got to Strathfield, I was so buggered I contemplated hopping on the train instead, but I somehow managed to make it home the hard way. It's little wonder why I've been barely able to walk today. However, hopefully it's the first step in getting my awesome fitness back. A price I'm willing to pay :) I was still surprised I pulled it off either way lol.
That night, Ming called me out to a party in Macdonaldtown of all places. Yeah, that station that many of you would have passed hundreds of times by now, but have never turned an eye to. As I was leaving the house, I realised I had work at 7.30am the next day (i.e today). Shit. Oh well, too late now, I thought. By the time I got there though, the cops had busted the party, so everyone went to Erskineville Oval for a good old-fashioned pissup. It wasn't too bad, despite me being the oldest person at the thing lol. 3 guys went for a nudie run across the oval, giving a couple of girls the opportunity to take away their clothes. LOL. They also commented on the boys' small manhood which was quite insightful. I also got the chance to meet one or two quite lovely young ladies that night. :)
Hopped on the bus at Railway Square (bless that 423) and got into bed at like 2.30 for a 5.45 wakeup.
Now that that's all done and dusted, I'm wondering about the week ahead. I wonder what it'll be like in Chinese tomorrow - the first lesson since the Thursday chat. Will we be all chummy in a sober environment? I believe we will, but we'll have to see. I'm looking forward to it.
My first blog to span over two days. It's now 12.05am Monday morning. Goodnight!

My boss seemed to insinuate that I'd get fired if I continue to be as lethargic as I was today, lol. I narrowly avoided catastrophe on numerous occasions, much to my relief. These included:
- Almost getting my hand stuck in a 300'C prover
- Nearly dropping two trays of food
- Spilling chocolate and fondants everywhere numerous times
- Getting a shitload of glaze on myself.

Oans, zwoa, g'suffa!
So yeah, this evening was Oktoberfest, and I have to say it met all the expectations. It was a pretty sweet night. Had a few beers and spent some good time with mates, and saw heaps of faces who I hadn't seen in yonks. There didn't really seem to be anyone who DIDN'T go tonight - it was packed!
Popping was interesting. Bonnie and I are officially rebels, hahaha. Never felt like dancing so much in my life! Not sure if I'll do it again, but we'll see.
Talking to Sara about shit was heaps good as well, that was probably one of the best things of the night. I always had a hunch I could talk to him and it'd be heaps cool, and it couldn't have gone any better. It's good to know that there are still people out there who don't come to premature judgments and conclusions. I also hate those awkward stalemate sort of situations when two people know who each other are, but can never talk to each other. So it felt heaps good to finally get that all out of the way, off each other's chests and move on.
I guess even to this day I underestimate the implications of all this, but I can't complain. There's actually a lot more rational-thinking people out there than I thought, which is a huge relief. Apparently not everyone is simply pinning it all on me. Phew.
Gute nacht!

I'm hungry.
I'm sure everyone knows and concurs that the hardest part of an essay to write is an introduction. You just sit there for a while, not really knowing where to begin. I suppose it's a similar story with a lot of scenarios really - the first day at a new school, your first foray into foreign lands, and so on. You're just not... completely sure of yourself. I feel the same way about this blog, in that I don't really know where to begin with this first post. Though, I'm fairly sure I'll get into the flow and swing of things soon enough.
So basically, this is just an introductory post so I can actually get off the mark and have an article on the screen, and go from there. Don't expect anything too deep in this entry; it probably won't be more than a general recap of recent times.
But yeah, okay. I kinda lied. It's not REALLY my first ever blog post; I had one many years back, but I got bored with it and it turned to shit. I'll try not to let that happen this time, but no promises unfortunately. Then again, not to sound overly blunt but this blog is primarily intended to be a source of outlet for me, not a source of entertainment for you. I'm simply putting it all out here in the public domain for all to see, for some silly reason. Oh how kind I am!
So this is me. You all know who I am. Well, you should anyway. If you don't, I don't know why you're reading this. Unless you want to be someone I know, who claims she has been able to grasp solid understandings of random peoples' lives merely by extracting what they compose on these silly websites. If you want to be one of those people, be my guest - enjoy the ride, but please don't put your feet on the seats. I fucking hate that.
Many a naive one would be quick to suggest that 2008 has been a year to forget for Nikola Levanic. However, I must beg to differ here. Obviously, heaps of shit went down this year. I returned from a trip to Thailand as a freshly single boy coming out of a rollercoaster 8 month relationship, which ended via an MSN conversation linking Sydney with a seedy internet cafe on the corner of Sukhimvit Road lined with royal propaganda. The climax of this relationship also took away two of my best friends whom we still share a mutual disdain to this day. Then of course, a number of little mini-dramas with certain pretentious and petty people sandwiching, as eine freundin so eloquently put it, 'ze incident.' Stack all that on top of the usual family dramas and those kids suddenly seem to have a pretty good case to present.
That all aside though, some awesome things have happened. I've met some cool dudes in my first year at uni, especially through rugby which was fucking awesome. It's motivated me to bulk up for 2009 and really be a part of the team. Also, I've got a couple of new awesome close friends, who are more than a good trade for those two dickheads I lost at the start of the year. Things are starting to turn out pretty well I think. I'm going to Thailand again at the end of the year (we have free accommodation there this time, so it was pretty hard to turn down) and I still have my 2009-10 world trip on my mind. Now I just want October 30 to come and go, so I can enjoy the summer break. Systems go!
Now onto more recent times. So I never thought I'd see myself working in a donut shop, but here I am at Dreamy Donuts Eastgardens. I've actually enjoyed it so far. The manager/owner is an awesome guy, and I get along with him well. Another interesting thing to note is that I'm the only male out of about 8 casuals, so as the token guy they all seem to like me quite a lot lol. There's 2 types of duties at the place - backhouse, which involves putting the donuts through the oven/proofer/glazer and putting topping on them, and fronthouse - serving customers and making coffee, and cleaning. It's actually decent pay, especially on weekends - I'm averaging about $18 an hour across the week which is pretty sweet.
I've been a bit sick lately - but I guess it's been going around. Thank god for Codral, how good is the stuff? I've gone from a deathly fever to a mere sore throat in two days. Good times. I hope I'm 100% and raring to go for Oktoberfest tomorrow night, it's going to be a loose night. Been fired up about it for a while and can't wait.
Happy to get this first entry out of the way. Look forward to more entertaining and compelling reading from now on. :)
PS. I like plain layouts, but jeez this is plain even for my liking. I'll get around to changing this layout soon enough.
