Nice guys finish last?

I'm tired as all hell, but I promised myself that I would recap the weekend's events before I retired for the evening.

Said fatigue has accumulated over the last two days. I must ensure I never again turn up to work on 3 hours' sleep after a big Saturday. My boss seemed to insinuate that I'd get fired if I continue to be as lethargic as I was today, lol. I narrowly avoided catastrophe on numerous occasions, much to my relief. These included:
  • Almost getting my hand stuck in a 300'C prover
  • Nearly dropping two trays of food
  • Spilling chocolate and fondants everywhere numerous times
  • Getting a shitload of glaze on myself.
I'll now outline the events of said big Saturday. I decided to go for a run for the first time in a month - I'm looking to return to my prime, which was about this time last year I suppose. I was looking for a test that would demand mental stamina as well as overcoming significant pain barriers, so I decided to run a fairly long route which totaled 16km. In accordance with my direction rotational policy for each time I run, it was time to run north. The route I ran is outlined in the map below.

Just in case you can't read the map, the route begun at Bexley North, going along Bexley Road up to Campsie, then up Burwood Road to the Hume Highway where I turned left, then right into Homebush Road, went through Strathfield, back down Coronation Parade (yes there is a mistake in my red line) then back onto Burwood Road. It was a lot hotter than I expected, and I still had a bit of a cough before heading out which both added to the mental challenge. It was already becoming a slog by the time I got through Campsie, and I had to stop at the park just after it for a quick sip of the bubbler. By the time I got to Strathfield, I was so buggered I contemplated hopping on the train instead, but I somehow managed to make it home the hard way. It's little wonder why I've been barely able to walk today. However, hopefully it's the first step in getting my awesome fitness back. A price I'm willing to pay :) I was still surprised I pulled it off either way lol.

That night, Ming called me out to a party in Macdonaldtown of all places. Yeah, that station that many of you would have passed hundreds of times by now, but have never turned an eye to. As I was leaving the house, I realised I had work at 7.30am the next day (i.e today). Shit. Oh well, too late now, I thought. By the time I got there though, the cops had busted the party, so everyone went to Erskineville Oval for a good old-fashioned pissup. It wasn't too bad, despite me being the oldest person at the thing lol. 3 guys went for a nudie run across the oval, giving a couple of girls the opportunity to take away their clothes. LOL. They also commented on the boys' small manhood which was quite insightful. I also got the chance to meet one or two quite lovely young ladies that night. :)

Hopped on the bus at Railway Square (bless that 423) and got into bed at like 2.30 for a 5.45 wakeup.

Now that that's all done and dusted, I'm wondering about the week ahead. I wonder what it'll be like in Chinese tomorrow - the first lesson since the Thursday chat. Will we be all chummy in a sober environment? I believe we will, but we'll have to see. I'm looking forward to it.

My first blog to span over two days. It's now 12.05am Monday morning. Goodnight!

Song of the moment: 1,000,000 Monsters Attack by Soul'd Out. Japanese hip-hop at its best! This song is funky as.
